چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to investigate if it is possible to use estimation techniques to reduce the difference between predicted and actual RGB values. Images and spectral reflectances of two classes of objects were used: matte, 2D (Munsell chips and Macbeth chart) and natural, 3D objects (faces). In the prediction phase, a simple RGB model was evaluated which takes into account only the spectral power distributions of the current and calibration illuminants, spectral reflectances of the objects, and the spectral response of the RGB camera in the calculations to avoid the complexity of modelling other possible factors affecting image formation. The results show that an estimation can make the prediction results closer to the actual values.

An Integrated System of 3D Pose Estimation and Primitive Robot Actions for Cluttered Manipulation - Motion Planning - Final Report

This project focused on designing and implementing part of a system for detecting and manipulating objects in a cluttered environment. The system, which was proposed by the Manipulation Lab, would use an ABB Robotics IRB 140 robot, a YCB object set, and multiple RGB-D cameras. Using the cameras, the system would perform 3D pose estimation for a subset of the YCB objects when the 3D CAD models a...

Crop Classification and LAI Estimation Using Original and Resolution-Reduced Images from Two Consumer-Grade Cameras

Consumer-grade cameras are being increasingly used for remote sensing applications in recent years. However, the performance of this type of cameras has not been systematically tested and well documented in the literature. The objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of original and resolution-reduced images taken from two consumer-grade cameras, a RGB camera and a modified ne...

Geometric Generative Gaze Estimation (GE) for Remote RGB-D Cameras

We propose a head pose invariant gaze estimation model for distant RGB-D cameras. It relies on a geometric understanding of the 3D gaze action and generation of eye images. By introducing a semantic segmentation of the eye region within a generative process, the model (i) avoids the critical feature tracking of geometrical approaches requiring high resolution images; (ii) decouples the person d...

Prediction Accuracy of Color Imagery from Hyperspectral Imagery

In this paper we present the utilization of high-spectral resolution imagery for improving low-spectral resolution imagery. In our analysis, we assume that an acquisition of high spectral resolution images provides more accurate spectral predictions of low spectral resolution images than a direct acquisition of low spectral resolution images. We illustrate the advantages by focusing on a specif...

Motion estimation from RGBD images using graph homomorphism

We present an approach for motion estimation from videos captured by depth-sensing cameras. Our method uses the technique of graph matching to find groups of pixels that move to the same direction in subsequent frames. In order to choose the best matching for each patch, we minimize a cost function that accounts for distances on RGB and XYZ spaces. Our application runs at real-time rates for lo...
